Miner Willy is a fictional character that first apperead in a game called Manic Miner. Later it was recreated in series of games for ZX Spectrum, MSX, Amstrad CPC and Commodore 64. First two games: Manic Minner (1983) and Jet Set Willy (1984) look really similar because they were written by same programmer Matthew Smith.
Third part of the game was written by Derrick P. Rowson and was relased under company Software Project. Third part was called Jet Set Willy II. After the Jet Set Willy there were no sequels or updates until 2002.
Miner Willy did not lose his popularity and in August 2002 there was a Manic Minner relase for Game Boy Advance (GBA). The gameplay is basically the same but the graphics got better and smoother. Miner Willy looks now much more realistic miner then he used to look on ordinary TV screen pluged to ZX Spectrum.
Now it is time for you to become Miner Willy and beat the enemies until you come to the last level. But fun does not stop there as Manic Miner is so addictive that you will want to play it again and again.
